Meet the Author
Harold J. Haughton, II
Harold is a retired educator with 37 years of experience in both middle school and high school. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a Master of Science degree in School Counseling. Throughout his distinguished career, he also served as a boys’ basketball and football coach, Dean of Athletics, Athletic Facilitator, and Lead Special Education Teacher. Harold has always sought to participate in programs that uplift and educate youth, including teaching a decision-making program in a prison for teenagers. He has also long served as a mentor to his former students and athletes.
Harold is also a gifted musician — a Gospel recording artist and songwriter who has released music and performed under both his birth name and his stage name, HJayH (pronounced “H-Jay-H”). He is the founder of Stay Grounded Publishing and Born Down South Productions. In addition, he leads the Men’s Ministry at Bible Gospel Center.
He counts it among his greatest joys to be a devoted husband and father.
